Work/Meme coin site

The world moves. You don't.

wait is the site for a meme coin about doing nothing. It is a small world on a plain, with a sun, a moon and a crowd that gathers while you sit still. A custom site for a client: we designed and built the brand and the site.

The idea

Leave it alone.

Everything online is built to make you act. The brief was a site whose only request is that you don't. So we made a world that runs whether you are looking or not, and let time do the work.

The reward for waiting is mostly having waited.

What we built
01 · One clock

Everything comes from the time of day.

Sky, sun, moon, stars, the colour of the ground and the type all come from one number. The wordmark casts a real shadow that turns with the sun.

02 · The long wait

Distance is time.

Forty-five photographs stand across a day's walk of empty plain. You set off at first light and it is dark by the far end.

03 · The thesis

Reading it takes a day.

On the thesis page the clock is how far you have read, so the sun rises and sets over the argument as you scroll.

What it does
  1. 01

It runs while you are away

The clock starts at your own local hour and keeps going between visits, and the page tells you how long you were gone.

  2. 02

    A crowd that gathers

Pictures arrive slowly while you do nothing and stay there, with no counter, unlock or reward.

  3. 03

Ink that turns with the light

The type is dark on the bright plain by day and warm white at night, so it stays legible at any hour.

Let's talk about your project.

Tell us about your business and what you'd like to improve. We'll review the details and see whether we're a good fit.

We work on a limited number of projects at a time, staying closely involved from the first review through the relaunch.
