shhh is the home of a meme coin built on the shush meme. It is a dark room you walk into, where the cursor is a torch and the faces only show where the light falls. A custom site for a client: we designed and built the brand and the site.
Most meme sites shout. This one is built on a meme about keeping a secret, so we turned the volume all the way down. There is no header, no scrolling and almost no copy. You arrive at a black screen that tells you not to tell anyone, and you have to step inside.
The site rewards you for keeping it down.
Past the gate, the wordmark sits in the middle of a room full of faces. A cold beam follows your pointer and lifts whatever it crosses, while the interface itself always stays legible.
The dark is a 3D field of all the memes and a floating vocabulary of quiet words. You move through it by scrolling or dragging, and click any picture to open it.
The thesis is set in typewriter type under the same light, revealing itself a passage at a time as you read down the page.
A counter in the corner times how long you stay quiet and resets when you click, type or scroll.
The mic is opt in, never prompted on load, and the sound it hears is measured on the page and never recorded or sent.
The whole site is a single HTML page with no framework, no build step and no web fonts.
